Every journey has a beginning. Ours began with a single, unexpected step.
My 28-year-old sports business closed
during lockdown and I found myself
asking “What now...?” I approached a
friend, who had been in the shoe industry for many years, to see if it was possible. The idea was simple: a pair of leopard-print veldskoens, made not for a shelf, but for someone special. What followed was anything but ordinary.
One social media post ignited a quiet frenzy. Orders came in from across South Africa, then from around the world. What was meant to be a once-off became a calling.
That pair became the Bush Baby — the shoe that gave New Earth its footing.
